Filming Diary 1
We decided to film some of the narrative for the music video first and we did this from the singers point of view as this allows the viewers to be able to fully focus on his memories and be able to clearly identify with the meaning behind this song. For our first day of filming, we decided to go to Hessle Foreshore. We felt like this would be a good starting point to look back on good times that the singer and his girlfriend had previously shared together. Due to difficulty in finding cast with how quickly we were running out of time, we decided that my partner would film me. To emphasise that this was being filmed by the singers point of view, we included a scene where I was helped over a muddy puddle by the person who was singing. We did this by my partner filming me trying to step over the puddle and then she reached out her hand to help me across. From the position this was filmed in, her hand reaching out in front of the camera appeared as if that is what she would see from her point of view. Although the weather was bad and rainy, we decided that this would be suitable as it would reflect the overall mood of the song.
